  • Wow experience 2010-10-24

We went to this place for an iftaar party. My first reaction on entering the restaurant was a big 'wow'. Although dimly-lit, the restaurant has an amazing ambiance that gives you a feeling of nawab. We ordered a haleem, which was likeable as I had it for the first time. Pathar ke kabaab seemed something very exotic. When enquired, we were promised kabaabs roasted on a hot stone instead of on tandoor. Without second thoughts, we ordered it. The kabaab though tasty was very meager in quantity. I could have eaten 3 plates of it. The mutton biriyaani was heavenly. We ordered a mutton Raan. The raan... read more

Went to this place recently. The one located at Shivajinagar, F.C. Road. We was not actually going to go to this place, were planning to go to Kareems next door but had not opened till then. So landed up here for lunch.

    The Place:
This place was really badly lit. I prefer places which are well lit up. I suppose it was a part of their styling. The air conditioning was not working so it was really hot. The place was totally empty, had been there for lunch.

    Menu & Food:
This place serves mainly nawabi stuff. Most dishes were priced at around Rs.225/- to 375/-. The portions

Finally Mota gave his B'day party. I had lost any hopes for it, but a good two months after his bday he gave us the treat. We (there were 10 of us) went to Koyla on FC Road. Last time I had been there on Autumn's b'day, and i have never been a fan of this place - Ghazals, soft lights, royal like, quiet ambiance - certainly not my taste and ironically i was the one who suggested this place when Mota asked me where to go.

The place is an ideal for those suffering from a heartbreak (just kiddin). Its a place where you can have a drink or two, under dim lights, and listen to ghazals

  • Not Worth for the Amount Paid 2009-06-29

If you only want to go to this restaurant for the ambiance u better go to a museum or any similar place. The food is OK not great but price tag associated with it is very high. U end up paying 390 rupees for a chicken dish and 300 bucks for a veg dish ...... cost of lamb touches 500 ...... the roti's start from 25 and kulcha's go to 50 rupees each ..... It is not at all worth for the price u pay. I ordered a Chicken dish, a kebab and 4 roti's and it costs me 900 bucks.....and the price tag of each dish does not include VAT. VAT is extra charged ....... Please avoid this place ...

  • Please avoid. There are so many better restaurants 2008-12-23

Koyla. If you want to pay for the ambience, then watch Mughale Azam :). Food is tasteless , not even the worst hyderabadi hotel will serve something like this, the waiters will simply make u overpay. The one who served us - For 3 of us ( 2 non-veggies and 1 Veg. ) he offered his help in choosing the food. When the bill came, I was surpriced to find out that he ordered the 2 most expensive subzies for us. The veg subzi was 300 Rs and Nonveg one - 390 Rs. And, vat 12%, on a kaccha, handwritten bill. So, total was - 990 Rs. for food only. Not worth even for a single star. There are so many good hotels... read more
