QBA

E-42143, Inner Circle, Connaught Place, Delhi

Excellent

Soak in the surreal ambience

I agree completely with the review titled 'Inner Circle Jewel.' Just thought I'd add my experience to it.

The first time I went here, I had the whole of Sunday to kill with a couple of friends before taking the flight back to Chennai. It was winter time and so we took a table on the upper deck and enjoyed the early afternoon sun with a picturesque view of the Inner Circle at Connaught Place. Later, we took a table inside. There was some great live acoustic music on the podium just above the Q-shaped bar. Sunlight came in through the violet wraps and gave the place a surreal feel.

The next 3 times that I have been here has been during the evenings and I have taken seats on the lower storey - once at the bar stool and a couple of times on the large sofas. The lights keep changing colours gradually and you can see the place in different hues. Also, have spotted a tarot card reader on a couple of occasions. She pays a visit to all tables. There was something interesting happening on all occasions. Also there were some great gigs advertised at QBA but I never got to attend them.

Be sure to visit QBA with good friends who have a whole day to spare and soak in the ambience.

Courtyard Marriot, 564, Anna Salai, Anna Road HO, Chennai

Good

Feel good but uber expensive

Rhapsody is a great place to be in if someone else is footing the bill. It definitely has a feel good factor going for it thanks to its decor, the colours, the spaciousness, the high ceiling, the beautiful done bar and not too loud music. But the place is uber expensive - especially the food.

A point to note is that every day at 9 PM or 10 PM (don't quite remember) they play the Queen number Bohemian Rhapsody and shots are served on the house. So be there by 8:30. :-)

Also, heard that they screen the F1 races at Rhapsody and they have a good deal for Sundays. Never experienced it on Sundays though.

Fascination for Roomalis

Ever since I can remember, I have spent all my childhood Sunday evenings at Copper Chimney. What used to fascinate me most about Copper Chimney is their kitchen with glass windows - with their chefs tossing the Roomalis till the ceiling. The taste of their Roomalis and Paneer Butter Masala are etched firmly in my taste bads and I pray they never change the preparation. Their Paneer Tikka is also worth dying for. This is the place that drew me to Punjabi/Mughlai food. Also, the other Copper Chimneys around the city don't come remotely close to this one.

Finger-licking Chana Bhaturas & Parathas

Cream Centre has existed since ages and has remained one of the best veg restaurants in town. Been here more than a zillion times cos I just can't get enough of their Carrot Pickle, Chana Bhatura, Parathas, Veg Cutlet, Russian Salad Sandwich, Veg. Soup, etc. And they now even have the best stuff from their erstwhile sister restaurant New Yorker's - Onion Rings, Nachos, Enchiladas. The service is top-class too.

Also, while they get you the food, you can have fun spotting differences, solving puzzles and making sketches on their disposable table mats.

Mysore Sada Dosas & Coffee

I can not help but agree with the other reviewers about Cafe Madras being the best South Indian restaurant in Mumbai. I've been frequenting this place since childhood for their Mysore Sada and Coffee. Love to go here early morning around 7 every time I am at home in Mumbai.
